5 Signs that You Are Growing Spiritually Strong

Biblical ways to lift your spirit and change your mood

You believe in God, you are a good person, and you have good morals, right? But, maybe you want something more, right? Have you considered the Spirit of the Lord is drawing you to come higher? To grow more spiritually mature? And closer to Him?

In this blog post, I describe 5 signs that you are indeed growing spiritually strong, and I offer ways you could improve this growth and development in Christ to lead a more victorious, confidant life as a Christian.

5 Signs You Are Growing Spiritually Strong:

You Are Willing to Go Higher

The Christian journey is all about going higher, so don't get "stuck in the mud" on your way, or you won't reach your potential!

A sure way to lift your mood and broaden your perspective is to elevate your spirit with the Word of God.

Elevate: To improve morally, intellectually, or culturally.

Before we begin, ask the Lord to "open the eyes of your heart" to see yourself as you truly are.

Then, adjustments can be made to your heart's attitude and you can receive blessings from this blog post!

You Are Moving On

When it was time for the Children of Israel to go into the Promise Land after 40 years of wondering in the wilderness, God said, "You have been around this mountain long enough! Pack up your stuff and get going!"

Consider this: Is there a "mountain" in your life you keep marching around? It may be time to move on...

Some people struggle with disappointment, depression, loneliness, heartache, or physical illnesses, and those things are very real, and allowed by God, but they were never meant to drag you down, but only meant to bring you higher.

Higher: exalted or elevated in character: noble

Consider this: The Lord has an "expected end" for you --His hope is that you make it to the finish line --To hit the mark of the highest calling of God in Christ Jesus.

You won't get to your "expected end" if you keep going around the same "mountain."

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

He wants you to fulfill every one of the purposes He has planned for you, since the beginning of time.

Having this "expected end" in front of you, means, you are pressing on towards something, not standing still, or getting "stuck in the mud" along the way.

Stuck-in-the-mud: Stuck, (unable to move), in a not-so-nice place (the mud).

You Are Conquering the Enemy of Your Soul

Satan, is the enemy of your soul and is very active.

He is the Father of lies.

The Word of God tells us that he is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.

Stop being oblivious to this!

He is trying to destroy you.

His tactics are very wily and cunning.

He is making every effort to destroy your faith and distract you from fulfilling God's call on your life.

Oblivious: Lacking active conscious knowledge or awareness of something.

Raise up the banner of the Lord in your heart as soon as you sense the enemy of your soul trying to gain ground in your life.

Declare God's word over your home and over your life. For God's word goes forth and does not return void.

Let God arise within you and let the enemy of your soul be conquered through the saving grace of God.

Cry out for deliverance from depression, and hopelessness and renew your hope in the Living God who has "an expected end" for you!

Psalms 68:1-5

Let God arise, Let His enemies be scattered; Let those also who hate Him flee before Him. As smoke is driven away, So drive them away; As wax melts before the fire, So let the wicked perish at the presence of God.

Conquer:

  • to gain victory over

  • to defeat

  • to overcome

  • to subdue and vanquish

Deliverance: the act of delivering someone or something: the state of being delivered.

You Are Protecting Your Mind

When the enemy comes into your soul like a flood, he means death and destruction. You must gird up the loins of your mind and start thinking on a higher level to avoid the onslaughts of the enemy.

You can build a hedge of protection around your mind with "spiritual gates" to help you filter out "destructive" thoughts that try to enter in.

These "spiritual gates" that will help you filter out undesirable thoughts are found in Philippians 4:8-9, read below:

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

You Are Thinking Positive Thoughts

The only way to overcome depression, anxiety, and hopelessness is to change the way your think.

Begin right now.

Stop allowing the enemy of your soul to have a stronghold in your mind.

Ask the Lord to help you see your situation through HIS EYES, then, consider:

What is TRUE about your life: God loves you and has a divine plan for you

What is HONEST about your life: You are human and make mistakes

What is JUST about your life: You deserve the unmerited favor of God

The Lord wants you to elevate your thinking so your thoughts will take you higher, not further into the depths of despair.

And this is the way to do it!

Encourage yourself with Scripture, and listen to worship songs to lift your spirit.

Regularly attend church services, where your soul and spirit can be feed with good things.

Read good, Christian books that will nurture this new found faith in your heart.

Ephesians 3:20-21

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end.

Let's Pray Together

Heavenly Father,

We come to You right now, as the Author and Finisher of our life. You know us through and through, and you know where we've been and where we are going. Please help us chose the best path for our life. Release us from spiritual bondages, and deliver us from the evil that tries to overtake us.

Keep us according to your Word that works in us. Allow Your Spirit to guide us in life. Bring us further into your purposes.

As we lift our vision higher, and look to You for answers, give us specific keys for our situation and set our feet upon the Rock. Place within our heart a new song, and renew a right spirit within us.

Bless the woman reading this prayer right now. May she feel Your presence near her. Fill her with Your spirit as she opens her heart to You, and give her grace to apply these truths to her life.

In Your Precious Name,

Amen.

Blessings ~
